this is a serious issue..I have constant, daily battles with my 14 year old..He just doesn’t realize priorities need to be made and that sleeping is one of them..They want to do it all and simply are not enough hours in the day.

the effects are horrific..My 14 year old now wants to stay up to keep playing, chatting, etc...taking away all of goodies and keeping on him, has corrected the problem for the most part, but 2 years ago he wasn’t sleeping at all, nor was he wanting to play..He was sleeping in class, rowdy, moody, sick all the time, and anti-social..we took him to specialist of all types, had his tonsils and adnoids checked, psychologist, etc..In the end it was found he had apnea, was only breathing to 15% of his capacity thru his nose,...never hitting his R.E.M sleep all due to....allergies..

Teachers thought he was a drugging psycho, within 10 days of using a prescription nose spray, he was a new boy..happy, loving, energetic, and studious..once again
